About us:
Vox - Farnham Chamber Choir is a group of 20 experienced singers based in the town of Farnham, Surrey, UK. We rehearse at the church of St Thomas-on-The Bourne, in south Farnham, with its lovely acoustic.
Vox presents highly varied concert programmes two to three times a year with excellent local and professional musicians. A very flexible ensemble, Vox is available for special occasions, such as weddings, funerals and carol concerts and can provide music in a mix of styles.
The choir was founded by Robert Taylor in 2002 to make cathedral visits, but this quickly developed into performing concerts. We sing a wide range of a capella and accompanied music to an excellent standard under our musical director, Robert Lewis.
We sing sacred and secular music from the renaissance and romantic periods through to works of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries including clever arrangements of jazz, popular songs and folksongs.
Vox has sung services at a number of cathedrals, including Winchester, Chichester, Southwark, Portsmouth, Guildford and at St George’s Chapel, Windsor and at the Guildford International Music Festival.
We sang recently at Westminster Cathedral and in the world premiere of Steve Banks’ “Blue Pearl” oratorio with the London Mozart Players and Excelsis Choir at the Barbican in London.
